Brigitta Norton is a web strategist from Australia. She has a wealth of experience in developing small and large websites, from initiation to launch, for private, government and non-profit organizations. Her expertise allows her to take a company’s vision, decode it for the programmers, structure it into a framework for front-end developers and designers. Most importantly she understands that the information on the website must be searchable, accessible and user-friendly for all visitors to find and access using all kinds of devices from anywhere around the world.
Brigitta’s experience covers all aspects of web design, including information architecture, content analysis, usability assessment and accessibility compliance. She has worked with government agencies on establishing and improving their websites for the past 16-years. Brigitta has lived in Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, where she not only worked on websites but she was also involved in event management, support for visiting dignitaries and ministers, computer training, database administration, magazine publishing and editing for local businesses and not-for- profit organizations.
More recently, as a web manager in Australia, Brigitta was involved in the development of projects and strategies to improve the web presence of large Australian Government agency web sites (such as www.dfat.gov.au, www.smartraveller.gov.au and www.ag.gov.au) to ensure that they adapt to the changing requirements of a dynamic online environment. Currently, in her role as a web portal business consultant, Brigitta has been working on an in-house project to enhance and improve dc.gov which has included liaising with District of Columbia government agencies on migrating their web sites to a new content management system (Drupal) and, along with the project and web teams, establishing a world-class web site for the DC citizens and visitors.
